Many editors perform excellent work, but for documents containing solid technical details and of high academic standard, Campbell Aitken is outstanding. Campbell always stands at the authors’ position and strives for the best logical flow and presentation approach. It is not uncommon that Campbell tries to rephrase a whole paragraph; in that sense, Campbell is more like a co-author than just an editor. In addition, Campbell is very responsive and reliable. I once had an urgent need for his help when he was on holiday; he made a special trip to a nearby town and finished the document at an internet cafe to meet our timeline. I cannot figure out what more can be expected from an editor!

I first contacted Dr Aitken when I was intending to submit my PhD thesis in a couple of months time. However, the submission was repeatedly delayed, and eventually it was six months later than originally planned!
